If you are anything like myself, then even the most miniscule Olympic-related activities sends your fanatic adrenaline into overload; especially when it comes to basketball.
Team USA tips off their 2012 gold medal campaign tonight in Las Vegas in an exhibition game against the Dominican Republic. Reigning regular season and NBA Finals MVP, LeBron James, along with Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul are a few of the superstars returning from the 2008 gold medal team that highlight this year’s team.
There was much excitement surrounding Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin in this year’s Olympic tournament; however, Griffin suffered a knee injury in a recent scrimmage. Griffin has since returned to Los Angeles and there is no word yet regarding whether or not he will return to the Olympic squad. New Orleans Hornets rookie, Anthony Davis, has been selected to replace Griffin.
The exhibition game tips off at 9PM ET tonight on on ESPN.
